It started its activities in January, 2005 and united different groups of young activists of the Orange Revolution in many regions of Ukraine. Beforehand some of those used to be local youth NGOs.

The mission of the organization is to develop the State of Ukraine on the basis of democracy, conservatism, Christianity and traditional Ukrainian values by means of strengthening the role of young people in politics and creating new young progressive right-wing teams in different regions of Ukraine.

To achieve the mission of the organization, National Alliance is developing following trends:

International

The aim is to promote democracy and cooperation among nations in Europe and the world.

The goals:

- to cooperate with both foreign right-wing NGOs and parties;

- to develop contacts with Ukrainians abroad;

- to exchange experience;

- to support organizations struggling against regimes, share experience;

- to organize common international events;

Achievements:

- in Apr 2005 the Memorandum about Partnership was signed with Belarussian oppositional youth NGO “Young Front”:

- contacts with Belarussian, Polish, Russian, Lithuanian NGO;

- international Polish-Ukrainian program “Memory without Borders” – youth exchanges, summer camps in the process of which young people are working at cemeteries where Ukrainian and Polish military is buried, thus ruining stereotypes and developing cooperation in the places of Ukrainian-Polish conflicts in the midst of 20th c. About 300 young people have already taken part in the program;

- the meeting of the leaders of National Alliance with the Minister of Poland Mr. Andzhej Pshevoznyak about the cooperation among Ukrainian and Polish youth (Feb.2005);

- members of National Alliance took part in different events of oppositional forces in Belarus: :”Chornobyl Way-2005” (5 activists were arrested and imprisoned), “Chornobyl Way-2006”, Democracies Forces Forum, Presidential elections;

- member of National Alliance observed Presidential and Parliament elections in Poland (Oct and Nov, 2005) and Kazakhstan (Dec 2005);

- a summer camp for Belarus opposition youth was hold in partnership with Danish NGO SILBA (Aug 2006, Ukraine);

Political

The aim is to involve young people to politics and to promote right-wings values in the society.

The goals:

- to make young people more active and involved;

- to spread knowledge about NGOs, parties;

- to contribute to the development of the civil society in Ukraine;

- to unite young right-oriented people;

- to cooperate with other right organizations;

- to struggle with the relicts of “kuchmism” system

- to hold trainings and seminars for NGOs and political parties member, students self-governments’ activists etc.

Achievements:

- the campaign “Let’s stop the advertisement of Death” was started, as a result – the outer advertisement of alcohol and tobacco was forbidden in 4 cities;

- the activities of the School of Active Youth are on. About 20 seminars and trainings took place in different regions of Ukraine;

- 15 political tent-camps;

- a set of “round tables” discussing actual for this or that region topics;

- participation in parliament and local elections (March, 2006) on different levels: candidates, observers, campaign advisors, PECs and TECs members;

- about 15 successful case of advocacy.

Informative

The aim is to promote the ideas and values of the organization in the society.

The goals:

- to cooperate with mass-media;

- to establish own mass-media;

Achievements:

- the web-site of National Alliance is being supported and it represents thousands of articles about the life of right and center-right forces of Ukraine and the world;

- all-over Ukraine newspaper for young people is edited once per month;

- 2 regional newspaper are edited;

- hundreds of news in electronic and printed mass-media.

Besides, National Alliance is promoting modern culture, Ukrainian history and traditions by means of different cultural events like: discos, parties, competitions; edits lots of leaflets, books, CDs.

National Alliance has 16 regional organizations in different parts of Ukraine.

The majority of activists of National Alliance are students, but also one can meet teachers, businessmen, professors, local councils’ members etc.

The leaders of National Alliance:

Igor Guz’ (24 years old) – the Head – the member of Volyn regional council, the Head of the Council’s ‘Youth, sport and tourism’ Committee. The advisor of the Governor of Volyn region. The leader of Strike Committee in Volyn region while Orange Revolution.

Alina Shpak (25 years old) – the Deputy Head – the Chief of the ‘Foreign Cooperation and Projects Activities’ Department in Lutsk City Council. In 2004-2005 – the Director of the first in Ukraine ‘European Information Center’.

Yurij Mindyuk (29 years old) – the Deputy Head – the member of Ivano-Frankivsk regional council. The Director if Ivano-Frankivsk youth organizations center.
